Well, hold on to your wallets ladies as the international brand ‘Nine West’ has now been launched in Karachi. And what’s so special about ‘Nine West’? For starters, it is an internationally recognised brand that is known to quickly translate runway trends into products of quality for ladies all over the world. Initially founded as a fashion footwear brand, ‘Nine West’ has expanded into handbags, sunglasses, leg wear, outerwear, jewellery, belts, watches, cold weather accessories, hats, scarves/ wraps, and eyewear.

The footwear range of the brand includes pumps, sandal, flats, platforms, booties, boots, wedges and sneakers in various designs, patterns and colours. Remember those gorgeous leather 7 inch heels that you all must have spotted in Vogue fashion shoots? Well, it’s those kinds of shoes that you will find in this store. As far as the handbags are concerned, the ones available are sure to be your dream bags. The variety includes clutches, totes, satchels and wallets. The watches and sunglasses are exquisite too, with designs meant for women with different preferences.

Even though the store provides products of quality, the prices are on a higher side but if you want branded stuff then you may as well prepare to pay some extra bucks. A range of thousands may be too much for a simple sandal but any woman would pay a big amount for a chic pair of heels with her eyes closed. Happy shopping!

The launch

Such a big brand deserved a glamorous launch, right? Unfortunately that wasn’t the case this time as the launch was just like any other. The place was too congested to accommodate a large number of guests. However, the factor that added glitz and glamour to the event was the presence of dignitaries, socialites and fashionistas including US Consul General William J. Martin; Press Attache US Consulate Amanda Cauldwell; Adnan Pardesy; Nida Butt; Ayesha Omer, Anoushay, Faizan Haqque, and many others. The mini fashion presentation was about a few models dressed in black, showcasing the hand bags and shoes. Several of these accessories were presented by models who posed on stage while seated on chairs. The models included Sadaf, Nadia Baloch, Maroosh, Saba Sinkander and Sana Khan. No doubt all the models were stunning, but all were upcoming models. The presence of our other famous and experienced models was deeply missed. After all such a huge brand should have been launched with a bang.

Overall, the event, organised by Catwalk, was mediocre in accordance to what we have seen in the past, but the fashion presentation was definitely a creative one. The credit should go to Frieha Altaf who always comes with unique ideas. We hope to see such inventiveness in other events too.
