Is Katrina Kaif the most bankable star?

The 100-crore club conversation is dominant in Bollywood. Interestingly enough, despite not starring in a film that has made 100 crores or more on the box office, Katrina Kaif has emerged as the most bankable star, according to filmmakers. Kareena Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Asin and Priyanka Chopra have 100 crore films to their name but ask filmmakers and they vouch for Katrina Kaif.

Filmmaker Kunal Kohli (Hum Tum, Fanaa, Teri Meri Kahani fame) says about Kat: "I want to work with her. I know her personally and it is difficult to get to the position that she has reached. She's an excellent actor. Kat needn't worry about not being a part of the 100 crore film club. It doesn't matter if she was not there in films like Dabangg or Golmaal. She will hit back soon."

Director Sujoy Ghosh, who delivered the sleeper hit Kahaani earlier this year says, "What Vidya found with her hits (The Dirty Picture, Kahaani), Kat will find with her films next year. She is the next crore girl to look out for."

Even Shirish Kunder (Jaaneman fame) says about Katrina: "It is a team effort, but only actors benefit when a film does well. Katrina is an extremely talented actor and she is still big. 100 crore has nothing to do with an actor's capability. Random big budget flicks cannot decide her calibre as an actor. It's good that she hasn't been a part of them."

Meanwhile things are looking bright for Katrina in 2012 because she has three solid films coming out with all three Khans. Her first release will be Ek Tha Tiger opposite Salman Khan. This will be followed by Yash Chopra's highly anticipated Untitled project opposite Shah Rukh Khan. And finally there's the third film from the Dhoom franchise opposite Aamir Khan. Potential blockbusters ALL!
