Nowadays, it has become difficult for brands to retain a top position without the help of several advertising tactics. Of course the quality of the product decides whether we want to use it or not, but it is strong advertising that pushes us to use a particular product in the first place. According to many, hiring Indian actresses for product promotions does the trick. However, we are past ogling at Indian celebs and now want to see our own art ists promote the products that we might or might not use. Well, our wish has been granted as Pantene has recently chosen five brand ambassadors from our very own entertainment industry and these ladies are all set to take the country by a storm.
To reveal these five brand ambassadors, the brand held an event at Port Grand that turned out to be one of the most entertaining occasions that has taken place in months. The event took off with the introduction of the five stunning ladies that included model Hira Tareen, actress, painter and sculptor Sarwat Gillani, stylist and entrepreneur Saba Ansari, actress Momal Shiekh and Vj Urwa. Later on in the event, these women told their stories of how Pantene affected their hair. “I always wanted to represent this brand,” said Hira, “I wouldn’t feel comfortable representing a brand I didn’t like, but I tried this shampoo and I loved it.”
These five women will also be going to several colleges across major cities to meet the youth of Pakistan so they can share their stories and also provide them with useful tips. The reason why these particular ladies have been selected is because their talent has helped them achieve a lot and they are a symbol of strength; that is exactly what the brand represents. What really is a benefit though, is the fact that these women are relatable and popular amongst the youth.
The introduction of the brand ambassadors was followed by a performance by Meesha Shafi who sung a few of her famous music numbers. She took the stage with the song ‘Chori Chori’ and moved on to the soulful track ‘Lambi Judai’. These songs of course aren’t upbeat numbers but the crowd enjoyed anyway due to Meesha’s captivating vocals. She then sung her latest track from the Coke Studio ‘Ishq aap bhe awalla’. The band managed to capture the feel of the song and did justice to the track. Then came one of the classics by Nazia Hassan ‘Boom boom’. Of course Meesha’s voice is not as sweet as Nazia’s, but the upbeat track drove some life into the audience. The last song to be performed was the hit ‘Alif Allah.’
This was Meesha’s first gig since she had gone solo and at the occasion she stated, “This was a very intimate gathering and the smallest gig I have ever done, but I enjoyed it none the less.”
Overall the event was power packed with entertainment and also provided the audience with useful information regarding the brand. However, we noticed that the ambassadors were extremely decked up and it was obvious that special effort was put into making their hair. They looked good, true, and so did their hair, but as they say anyone’s hair can look good when blow-dried and styled with several hair products.
