  POETS’ CORNER
  Gravestone

  By S. D. Xia

How would it feel?

To just fall to the ground,

To never get up,

And feel my soul come unbound

How would it feel?

To just lie under the snow,

With dirt as my blanket,

And feel my blood cease flow

How would it feel?

To be chilled to the bone

Would I find peace,

If I rest under a gravestone?

The Deep Rooted Pain

By Namra Khalil

The deep rooted pain

Of a flower

Standing intact

In the middle of a garden -

A Rose

With bruised edges

Looking for a shade all around

Burning in sunlight

All alone!

A Life of Regret

By Maham Javaid

A hopeless Struggle,

A meaningless fight.

A dreamful aim,

A truthful lie.

A humorous punch,

A shocking reality.

A Thoughtful song,

An abandoned freedom.

A for-granted act,

A life of regret.

All in Words

By Saba Sheikh

In which weather to write of you, I ponder,

For any weather can be perfect enough;

If only your love in words could be framed,

In which way to write of you, I wonder,

For any way can be perfect enough;

If only your care in words could be shaped,

The thought of you someday going yonder,

Like no thought can be grievous enough;

If only your memory in words could be saved.

Delirium

By Mohammad Naveed Zafar

In blink of an eye it disappears,

Never knowing this would end in tears,

The passion lost in embers and pain

and not a soul to be blamed,

Shaken but undaunted,

I stand here still,

No fear of death,

No urge to kill,

Numbness, I feel, and blindness, I see,

Noises, I hear from the silence within me,

Imprisoned, I am in my own delirium,

As life moves on with no equilibrium,

My God, my Angels have left my side,

While I stand alone with my shallow pride,

But still I stand in the wake of hope,

There’s a saviour for all, is what I know!

Illumination

By Sultan Abdul Haseeb

The lark’s figure

Intrigues you

And the beauty of wings-

Even more.

For the soaring bird

Gives you hope.

It enchants you.

It captivates you.

It makes you wonder,

You wish you had known

That the key to freedom

Had not been stolen

And you could still fly.

But, no.

A penguin cannot

Feel the air like that lark.

A penguin cannot

Have a fresh start.

For it cannot fly

And make its mark.

And that my friend,

Is where you betray

Yourself, and only you.

Ask the lark if it will go too

In the waters you rule.

Ask the lark

To accompany you.

And then see

That once down, you cry;

Your secret is safe.

And when that lark does

It cannot hide.

So rejoice and fly-

Fly when you swim.

For that is your flight...

Again And Again, However We Know The Landscape Of Love

By Rainer Maria Rilke

Again and again, however we know the landscape of love

and the little churchyard there, with its sorrowing names,

and the frighteningly silent abyss into which the others

fall: again and again the two of us walk out together

under the ancient trees, lie down again and again

among the flowers, face to face with the sky.
