  Your own sanctuary
This season sees a return of glamour to the home, in particular, the bedroom. Attractive bedlinen can transform the whole appearance of a bedroom. You! takes a look at the launch of a new lifestyle store - introducing alluring bedlinens and accessories...

The bedroom is the one place you can escape it all - so make yours a haven. Whenever thinking of updating the bedroom, one of the simplest and most affordable ways to give your sleeping quarter's space a fresh glimpse is with a new pair of bedlinen. An attractive bedlinen can transform the whole appearance of a bedroom. A new set of bedlinen can provide a block of fresh colour, while a throw or pair of contrasting or textured pillowcases is a quick way to lift any room.

Choosing the right bedroom linen is a crucial factor as it largely contributes to the mood, balance and comfort in the bedroom. The desired effect on the room should also be influenced by the colours selected for the linen. Orange and yellow would brighten up the room during winters while green and blue are ideal for a relaxing effect. The fabric features various forms, textures, and patterns. Incorporating bedroom linen with colours that rhyme is a creative and fascinating way to create life or a dramatic effect in a room, other than sticking to one colour. The bedroom accessories are important for the cosy effect using items like 100% cotton bedspreads and matching pillow shams or even something as simple as an Egyptian cotton blanket folded at the base of the bed. So, layer your bed with beautiful bedspreads, velvet throws, faux fur and sequined cushions and make your bedroom a sanctuary to relax.

Latest trends in bedlinen:

Over the last ten years bedlinen trends have changed from basic colour prints to high thread count quality linen. This season we are seeing bedlinen in a mixture of styles from bohemian to contemporary and over the top opulence. This season sees a return of glamour to the home, in particular, the bedroom. Choose a rich colour for the bed cover and pillows and accessories with luxurious faux fur rugs, damask sheets and feather ornaments. Bedlinen with metallic colours such as anthracite, silver coal or gold features works well with rich colours for the fitted sheets and pillowcases. Prints and patterns are once again popular in the bedroom. We are seeing leaf prints in olive-green, earthy toned cushions and rustic furniture all contributing to a look that back to nature. These muted tones can be brought to life with splashes of bright white or red accents. Don't go for bright red though - reds with a rust undertone work best. You can now add a little warmth to your bedlinen. Start with a neutral base (your sheets and quilt cover) and then accentuate it with accessories - a fine cashmere throw and a few textured cushions work perfectly. Embrace the trends of contrast, blending and juxtaposition for a uniquely personal bedroom decor.
