Boman Irani and Sharman Joshi play father-son in Ferrari Ki Sawari, which releases today - just in time for Father's Day. While the movie is really about the pursuit of a beloved celeb's Ferrari, the actors have spoken about how they feel about Father's Day. Sharman Joshi acknowledges that dads need to be loved and their importance acknowledged, but Father's Day is just not for him. Boman Irani, on the other hand is flexible about the occasion. "I agree with Sharman. You can't take out Father's Day as an individual day. I don't have a father, but my kids tell me everyday that they love me, even when I am not in my best mood,” he says. “But at the same time, it's nice to feel special sometimes, so maybe this is not a bad idea. Every relationship is not perfect and Father's Day might be a day to try to connect.” Irani also has advice for fathers and aspiring fathers around the world: "My theory is children don't do what you tell them to do, they do what you do. You have to always do the right thing, because they will follow you."

In other news of fathers and sons, Salim Khan will be supervising the scriptwriting for Sohail Khan's Sher Khan, which stars brother Salman as well. “My father is the script doctor on the project. He's guiding all of us. We all are counting on him to make Sher Khan one of the most special films in Bhai's career,” says Sohail. Salman-Sohail projects have often bombed in the past when they chose not to take their father's suggestions.
Salim Khan is playing it cool, as someone of his stature should. "I am there in the scriptwriting process of Sher Khan to point out their mistakes and not to breathe down their necks. I don't want to take away the credit from whatever those kids are doing." He adds, "I like to nurture talent as much as trees. I've to admit they're capable of looking after the script. But since they've asked me to help, I presume they think I'm better informed and cleverer than them."

And on a completely non-fatherly note, or perhaps pseudo-fatherly note: Shahid Kapoor. Just because we haven't talked about him in a while. Shahid, Priyanka, and her now over-inflated upper lip have been out and about promoting Teri Meri Kahani, and their travels took them to a college somewhere. There's apparently been a mass crackdown on Mumbai clubs recently, and Shahid is not pleased, as is really the norm with Shahid. Nevertheless, he encouraged students at the college to step out into the disco of life without fear. "There is no reason to stop partying...in fact I feel house parties are more fun, you can have your own music, food and enjoy completely. Are you guys so boring? The party should not stop. Don't you know how to do house parties? I love house parties more than being at a club or a pub," said Shahid 'Fun' Kapoor, as we fondly call him.
