Tempest by Bob Dylan: Thirty fifth album by the folk rock legend, the follow-up to his holiday album Christmas in the Heart (2009); includes the title track ‘Tempest’ which is about the sinking of the Titanic, and the song ‘Roll on John’ which is a tribute to John Lennon.


Fight or Flight by Hoobastank: Fifth album by the rock band, their first new release since 2009’s For(N)ever; includes the single ‘This Is Gonna Hurt’.


Also out this week: Away from the World by Dave Matthews Band; Elysium by Pet Shop Boys; Self Entitled by NOFX; Coexist by The xx; Observator by The Raveonettes; The Carpenter by The Avett Brothers; and Love This Giant by David Byrne and St. Vincent.

The Words (starring Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Irons, Zoe Saldana, Dennis Quaid, Olivia Wilde) - drama; a young writer (Cooper) achieves success after publishing a novel that he did not write.


The Cold Light of Day (starring Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver) - action; a man (Cavill) tries to find his family after they are kidnapped during a sailing trip.

Tagline: Back for war.


Action, sequel to The Expendables (2010); the Expendables avenge the death of one of their own.


Had a budget of around $100 million; has made over $122 million in the first few weeks of its release.


Has gotten a mixed to positive reception from critics; has been praised for its humour.


Nicolas Cage, John Travolta, Antonio Banderas, and Jackie Chan were reportedly offered roles but were unable to take part due to other commitments.


During filming, a stuntman was killed and another left in critical condition during a staged explosion.


The production was fined for removing plants and causing damage to the Devetashka Cave in Bulgaria; the bat population in the cave also dwindled because of the filming.

A third instalment of the series is in the works; filmmakers are pursuing Steven Seagal, Nicolas Cage, Mickey Rourke, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, and Wesley Snipes to appear in the film.

Had supporting roles in movies including The Out-of-Towners (1999), which starred his mother, The Smokers (2000), and Going Greek (2001) before getting a recurring role on Dawson’s Creek (2002-2003) and starring in the short-lived series The Mountain (2004-2005).


Has been starring in the sitcom Rules of Engagement since 2007.


Has been married to actress Erinn Bartlett since 2006; they have two sons.
