Q1: Dear Mr. Abidi, I have recently completed my matriculation with science and I am now at the crossroads regarding my intermediate education. I am interested in STEM field and I seek your expert guidance on whether I should do ICS or A Levels?

(Kashaan Ahmad, Karachi)

Ans: Dear Kashaan, if you go for ICS, given its structured curriculum and alignment with local university entry requirements, it is best if you want to study in Pakistan. On the other hand, if you consider A Levels with Computer Science, because of its internationally recognized and flexible subject combinations, it prepares you for study abroad options a bit more.

Q2: Dear sir, I have done a BS in Architecture and now I want to study Project Management. Do you think it’s a good choice or should I do a masters in architecture? Please guide me. (Tehmina Aslam, Islamabad)

Ans: Dear Tehmina, deciding between pursuing a Master’s in Architecture or switching to Project Management depends on your career goals, interests, and the opportunities you want to explore. If you consider Project Management, it offers more managerial/leadership roles in professional life. Hence, Project Management (especially in construction) is a smart career move with good ROI. However, if design is your passion, a Master’s in Architecture may be better.

Q3: Dear sir, I have done BS in Sports Science and Physical Education and want to work in the sports/ fitness industry. Do you think it’s a good career choice? (Nisar Khan, Peshawar)

Ans: Dear Nasir, pursuing a career in the sports/fitness industry is a great choice, especially given your background in Sports Science & Physical Education and experience in sports physiotherapy. The fitness industry is growing rapidly, with increasing awareness of health, fitness, and professional sports performance. In case you want to know what avenues are best for this, here are a few options for you: Sports Physiotherapist/Rehab Specialist, Strength & Conditioning Coach (for athletes, teams, or fitness centers), and Sports Scientist (performance analysis, biomechanics, research).

Q4: Dear Mr. Abidi, I have done BS in Bio Technology and I am thinking of doing a master’s in the same field from the UK. Can you please suggest some good university options in this? (Salman Hassan, Jhelum)

Ans: Dear Salman, you have chosen an absolute gem of a degree for your bachelor’s, and master’s from UK university would be like icing on the cake in your professional career. Here are my recommendations for you: King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, University College London, and University of Bristol which are some of the best universities offering this course.
