GUJRANWALA: A 12- year-old girl allegedly was raped by a shopkeeper in Alipur Chattha on Friday. The daughter of Muhammad Ali went to a nearby shop where accused Shahzeb took her to his house and raped her. Alipur Chattha police have arrested the accused.
DC VISITS FRUITS, VEGETABLES MARKET: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Danish Afzaal Friday visit fruit and vegetables market and inspected the auction process. The DC also visited stalls and inspected prices and quality of fruit and vegetables. Talking to reporters on the occasion, the DC said every possible step was underway to provide relief to the masses and no one would be allowed to extort citizens. He said he was monitoring the performance of price control magistrates on daily basis and they were instructed to ensure implementation of recommended prices. He asked the traders to avoid profiteering so that essential daily use items could be provided to citizens on controlled rates. He also directed the market committee officers to ensure holding of banners and boards on prominent places of the market.
