HARIPUR: The police on Saturday arrested a man for allegedly raping his daughter and keeping her locked in a room for a month in the limits of Saddar Police Station.
Police said that S 21, resident of Simlan-de- Negar village had approached the police station on Saturday.
The complainant told the police that about a month back, she was sleeping in her bedroom when her father Muhammad Sabir entered there at around 7 in the morning and allegedly raped her.
The accused, according to the complainant, was suspecting her abetment in the elopement of her elder sister a few months back and told her that he was taking revenge from her.
She told the police that though her mother tried to save her, the accused took her to another room where he locked her.
The victim said that she remained locked for about a month when she managed to escape and reached the police station on Saturday.
The police registered a criminal case under section 376, 342 and 506/34 of the PPC and arrested the accused. The police also arrested the son of the accused for hushing up the offence of his father.
