LONDON: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rashid on Monday said the nomination of a controversial person as Punjab’s caretaker chief minister was a question mark on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
In a Twitter message, he said the appointment of a controversial person to the Punjab top slot was an attempt to suppress the decision of the people of Pakistan.
He said that at a time when Pakistan was going through a serious economic and political instability, the appointment of an undesirable person as the caretaker chief minister of Punjab having 60 per cent population of the country would be tantamount to humiliating democracy.
“The steps you are taking to block Imran Khan will fall on you. The people of Pakistan and Islam will be victorious. You will be destroyed and your all intentions will fail as the nation will defeat you,” he said.
