JHANG: A visually-impaired overseas Pakistani has been moving from pillar to post since the last six months to get an authorised record of his agricultural land.
Ali Aftab Sial of mouza Godara of tehsil Ahmedpur Sial through his representative submitted his application (plea) with the district collector/deputy commissioner, the in charge record branch of the DC office and sought authentic revenue record of his agricultural land.
He also forwarded his applications to the prime minister, Punjab chief minister, the Punjab chief secretary and senior member of Punjab Board of Revenue and sought their help in this connection.
He said on medical ground he was in the US and when he visited Pakistan he came to know that an influential person had encroached his five-acre land in collusion with local Revenue officials who never objected to the possession of the land.
He said he had approached the relevant Revenue officials to get the possession of his land and paid all revenue taxes and fee to Revenue officials to get copies of mutation/transfer of his land. He said the Revenue officials advised him to get the documents verified from the DC office. Sial said he had completed all the formalities to get the authorised copies of land mutation but no officials was heeding to his plea. He said the in charge of revenue record branch allegedly refused him to give official copies of his land record and told him that required record was not available with the branch.
When contacted, DC Shahid Abbas said on the application, a report had already been sought from the in charge of the revenue record branch. He said the issue would be probed thoroughly and the officials concerned not giving documents to the applicant would be taken to task.
