TOBA TEK SINGH: Windstorm and rain damaged wheat crop on hundreds of acres here on Thursday night.
Reports said that there were dozens of villages around Toba Tek Singh, Rajana and Pirmahal where wheat crop was damaged. Pakistan Kissan Committee leader and former union council Chuttiana nazim Chaudhry Naeem Fateh told this correspondent that there was a great hope of bumper wheat yield this year, but the untimely rain and windstorm damaged the crop. He demanded the Punjab caretaker chief minister declare the affected areas as calamity hit and waive off their water rate and revenue tax recovery.
