PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has contradicted and denied issuing show-cause notices to its senior members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter.

Provincial Spokesperson of PMLN Ikhtiar Wali, while contradicting it, said that dubious personalities in PMLN are defaming the party and the party is strongly condemned it. He said that this show-cause notice is false and somebody has photoshoped it for getting cheap popularity.

Earlier, it was reported that The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter) had issued a show-cause notice to its five leaders, including former governors Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan and Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, for indiscipline and making statements in the media against the party leadership.

According to a press release, PMLN KP General Secretary Murtaza Javed Abbasi issued the show-cause notice to Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Arbab Khizer Hayat, Fareed Mufakir Khan and Esal Khan.

They were asked to either submit their reply in writing or appear before the party leadership to clear their position within 15 days or else their back party membership would be cancelled.

The show-cause notice said that the above mentioned persons had been given key government and party offices, but they violated the party discipline by making statements against the leadership of the party.

Meanwhile, Arbab Khizer Hayat in a statement said he had not received any show-cause notice. “Some leaders are out to weaken the party. The newcomers can’t issue notices to the old and ideological workers,” he said. He urged the party leadership to take notice of the steps being taken to weaken the party.
