A man attempted to commit suicide after stabbing his wife with a sharp weapon in Orangi Town on Sunday, police said.
According to police, the incident took place in the Chishti Nagar neighbourhood of Orangi Town, where a couple with serious injuries were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for emergency medical treatment. The casualties were identified as 60-year-old Mustafa and his 46-year-old wife Khalida Parveen.
Police said that during an altercation over a domestic issue at their house, the man used a sharp object to attack his wife and then used the same to hurt himself in the neck. The initial investigation found that the man was infuriated after his wife did not respond to his calls. Police added that the man was ill and unemployed.
