LAHORE:In view of the deteriorating Air Quality, the Punjab government has made wearing of mask mandatory in 10 smog-affected districts of Lahore and Gujranwala divisions for one week from today (Monday).
On directions by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Primary and Secondary Healthcare department has issued a formal notification in this regard.
Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir has said that due to environmental pollution, the Punjab government has made it mandatory for all people in the smog-affected districts to wear masks for one week. He informed that the mask wearing would be compulsory in the districts of Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib. Apart from this, it is also mandatory to wear masks in districts Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot Narowal, Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin.
Dr Jamal Nasir said that protecting the health of the citizens is the top priority of the Punjab government and it is using all possible resources to combat pollution and overcome smog. He advised that all the citizens must wear masks to avoid allergies and diseases due to smog.
