A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) is going to Lahore not for grabbing power but for securing the rights of the urban areas of Sindh.
MQM-P Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said this while addressing a general workers' convention of the party outside the Pakistan House on Sunday. “We want to make it clear to the rulers that they should not turn this city into a colony,” he warned.
He added that MQM's mothers and sisters are actively participating in the political sphere “Those who need a certificate of patriotism can come to us, and we will decide about it,” he said.
Dr Siddiqui maintained that those who dreamt of seizing the control of Karachi should witness the MQM-P’s gathering. “Our efforts have made our enemies realise that the MQM Pakistan is stronger than ever, and they are frustrated because they cannot defeat us.”
He said the MQM-P is there to fight for the rights of people. “We need to bury the politics of favouritism, and hereditary and feudal politics. The governance of the middle class is the solution to the problems,” he opined.
He stated that the MQM-P was not collecting money like other political parties. “No one can become the prime minister without the MQM-Pakistan’s support,” he declared. “We are here to establish peace in the city, and we have rendered sacrifices for it.”
