MULTAN: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the OPD and indoor block of the Institute of Cardiology Multan under its expansion project.
The CM also announced the upgradation of the cardiology emergency along with increasing the number of beds from 60 to 120. Mohsin Naqvi directed to complete the upgradation work by the mid of January. He visited the Expansion Project of OPD and Indoor Block of Multan Cardiology. He expressed his dissatisfaction over the construction quality of floors and stairs and ordered to immediately improve their quality. He inquired after the health of patients in the cardiology, emergency, OPD and indoor block. The patients endorsed the availability of medicines along with the provision of medical test facility.
Talking to the media, he said, “We are doing our work and the new government will look after the remaining affairs. The completion of Nishtar-II project is in the final phases. Construction and restoration of one ward of Nishtar-I is ongoing and then construction and restoration of other 12 wards will be completed soon.”
“The construction and restoration work of the Multan Children Hospital’s Medical, OPD and emergency wards is in the final phases. A pathology lab equipped with latest equipment will be established at the Children Hospital. We are providing funds for the restoration of old block of the Children Hospital and for establishment of a Thalassemia Ward,” he added.
He said, “Work is ongoing on an emergency basis for the restoration and improvement of medical gas system in the Children Hospital. I used to feel sorrow over seeing the plight of emergency of children hospital and now we are making it a state-of-the-art hospital. We are working for the improvement of hospitals and will ensure timely completion of the ongoing projects.”
Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi reached the house of an abused child in Chakwal. He also met with such other children. He remarked that the incident was highly sorrowful and those responsible would not be able to go scot-free and justice to the affected children will be ensured.
