HYDERABAD: The Naseem Nangar police registered a case on Saturday against a friend of 32-year-old woman nationalist Comrade Murk Jaan Pirzadu, ten days after she was found strangled in a flat.
Saifur Rehman alias Saif Jatoi has been charged under the provisions of murder, sexual harassment, and incitement to an act or death. The FIR was filed on the complaint of Jaan Mohammad Pirzadu, father of Murk, an activist of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, in which he complained that she was employed in a private bank and had taken up residence in a rented flat of Jatoi in Naseem Shopping Mall in the Qasimabad area some time ago.
According to the father, his daughter had told him that Saif Jatoi was her political partner. Before her death, Murk seemed distressed and on inquiry she stated that Jatoi was harassing, blackmailing and threatening her, he added. In the FIR, it has been stated that Murk died due to mental stress, blackmailing and harassment. On November 15, her body was found hanging from a fan.
