Unknown persons escaped after dropping the body of a minor boy at the emergency department of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre on Wednesday.

According to a hospital spokesperson, the child, aged around eight years, was brought dead to the hospital following a road accident. When attempts were made to prepare an emergency report, the unidentified persons fled the scene.

Following the incident of a suspected hit-and-run, where a child's body was left at the emergency ward of the hospital, DIG South Asad Raza took notice of the incident. He issued directives to the SHO of the Saddar police station to investigate the matter. Police investigators have obtained CCTV footage showing two persons bringing the victim to the hospital’s emergency ward in a car with minor damage from the front, suspected to have hit the victim.

The police mentioned that the address of the person in whose name the car was registered under had been traced. The child was identified as Rawal Fayyaz, a resident of the Qayyumabad area. No case has been registered as of the filing of this news story as the family wanted to file a case upon returning from Punjab after burial.
