karachi: The Sindh Rangers and police have decided to jointly deal with street crime in Karachi, for which joint snap checking will be carried out at inter-provincial checking points.
Officials said on Wednesday that Sindh Rangers DG Major General Azhar Waqas presided over a high-level meeting on security and was briefed on street crime, water theft, anti-smuggling operations and deportation of migrants from Karachi. The meeting also reviewed in detail the measures taken to prevent crime.
The Karachi police chief, Range DIGs, Special Branch officers and officers of sensitive agencies also attended the meeting. The meeting decided to jointly deal with the challenge of street crime.
