In a significant progress in the ongoing probe into RJ Shopping Mall blaze of November 25, the investigation police took into custody Ehsan Dhoni, son of Arif Dhoni, the builder of the RJ Shopping Mall, in a raid near Shaheed-e-Millat in the Tipu Sultan area on Friday.
A senior police official, who is a part of the investigation team, confirmed the arrest, saying that raids for the arrest of Arif Dhoni and others were underway.
Earlier on Wednesday, the investigation team had arrested five people in connection with the fire in the RJ Shopping Mall on Rashid Minhas Road that claimed 11 lives and wounded five others.
The suspects are software house owners, Imran and Adnan, mall administrators, including Sultan and Faizan, and security in-charge Abid Shah. The FIR registered at Sharea Faisal Police Station pointed the accusing finger at various entities involved in the construction and maintenance of the ill-fated mall. The final investigation report is yet to be completed.
