The chief election commissioner (CEC) has approved the extension of the tenure of Dr Akbar Zaidi as executive director of the IBA Karachi by three months. Dr Akbar Zaidi’s first four-year term is ending on January 12. The CEC had earlier opposed the second four-year term for him, after which the matter had been taken to court.
