LAHORE:Revitalising social perspectives with a renewed vigour, the Faiz Festival concluded at Alhamra here on Sunday.
The final and third day of the 8th edition of the annual Faiz Festival witnessed a larger turnout as compared to the first two days. The festival offered insights into global affairs, societal changes, politics, literature, linguistics, and the evolving dynamics of various nations. The day began with a session 'Lahu Ka Parcham: Palestine-Everyday Battles’ with Dr Nimer Sultany, Palestinian scholar and activist, in conversation with three young Palestinian students studying currently in Pakistan. The final day highlighted 35 sessions in which writers, scholars, poets, intellectuals and delegates enriched societal discourse with innovative insights.
During a session 'Aaj Tum Yad Bay Hasab Aaye,' Azra Mohyeddin and Arshad Mahmud engaged in a conversation with Qasim Jafri remembering late Zia Mohyeddin. The Sunday’s programme included workshops, documentaries, book launches, drum circles, and Kitab Gehi (book readings).
The Faiz Festival concluded with a commitment to perpetuate the poet's progressive ideology globally for generations to come. It is pertinent to mention that the annual festival was organised by the Faiz Foundation Trust in collaboration with the Lahore Arts Council.
