Thankfully, the general elections 2024 took place. Though the results are somewhat controversial, it augurs well for the country that people voted in such large numbers. I was surprised when I visited my polling station in the afternoon as there was a long queue, people were standing with patience waiting for their turn and not cutting in line.
As a senior citizen, I was immediately taken into the voting room where I was guided by the polling staff in a very cultured and polite manner. I have never encountered such polling staff and wish that future elections will have similar levels of engagement and high standard of behaviour as well.
