LAHORE: During the ongoing crackdown on gas pilferers, SNGPL disconnected 268 connections and imposed a fine of Rs4 million in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
On illegal use of gas, the regional team disconnected 15 connections in Lahore and 40 connections in Rawalpindi whereas the team also disconnected another 6 connections for the use of compressor and imposed a fine of Rs0.28 million against gas theft cases.
In Multan, six connections were disconnected on illegal use of gas and another 36 on use of compressors.
In Peshawar and Karak, the company disconnected 109 connections and imposed a penalty of Rs3.71 million. The team also lodged 3 FIRs against gas pilfers. Moreover, 6 connections were disconnected in Sahiwal and Gujrat each, 42 in Sheikhupura along with Rs0.02 million fine, 1 in Bahawalpur and Faisalabad each.
