KARACHI: Memorabilia of Pakistani sports legends will be auctioned at an event on February 23, 2024, to generate funds for educating children belonging to underprivileged families of Sindh.
The auction will be organised at a hotel as part of a joint charitable drive of two non-profit organisations — Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) and Green Crescent Trust (GCT) — striving for spreading education.
The two organisations had joined hands five years ago to enrol out-of-school children in Sindh.
Together, the SAF and GCT have been jointly running seven charitable schools in remote and underprivileged parts of Karachi having an enrolment of over 2,433 children from destitute families.
The SAF has been operating a total of 15 charitable schools across the country with an enrolment of 5,000 students. Meanwhile, the GCT since its establishment 29 years back has built a network of over 166 charitable schools in underprivileged and rural parts of Sindh having an enrolment of over 31,799 children from impoverished families.
