The poor quality of education in Pakistan manifests itself in the form of the absence of critical thinking among students. Our current education system has been designed in such a way that it lacks the capability to inculcate the values of logical reasoning and analytical skills, which not only gives a severe blow to creativity but also aggravates the students’ chances to realize their true potential. Plainly put, the current system is archaic. The syllabus has not been meaningfully updated for a long time. The gravity of the situation can be gauged from the fact that the country is faced with all sorts of socio-economic and political problems, the underlying cause of which is, in my view, the failing education system. The new government needs to pay attention to education and initiate meaningful reforms.
