This letter refers to the news report ‘Emergency or martial law possible: Pir Pagara’ (February 17, 2024). Although it now seems almost certain that an elected government, one should still take the Pir Pagara’s words seriously.
If the newly elected coalition government is beset with problems from the very first day it assumes office, and its performance falls short of the nation’s expectations, then I am afraid any sort of development could become a possibility.
However, as a perennial optimist, I am hopeful that better sense shall prevail and things will even out smoothly.
