LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued the notification for the reserved seats of women for the Punjab Assembly, which included 36 women from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), three from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), two from Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PMLQ) and one from Istehmam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
The notification was released on February 22, 2024 and read as “In pursuance of Article 106 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan read with Section 104 of the Election Act 2017, the Election Commission of Pakistan hereby publishes the names of returned candidates for the Seats Reserved for Women in the Provincial Assembly of Punjab.”
As per notification, 36 women candidates of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz notified as members of Punjab Assembly included Rukhsana Kausar, Zakia Khan, lshrat Ashraf, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Azma Zahid Bokhari, Hina Pervaiz Butt, Salma Saadia Temur, Rahila Naeem, Bushra Anjum Butt, Sania Ashiq Jabeen, Salma Butt, Kanwal Pervez Ch, Mehwish Sultana, Nausheen Adnan, Asma Ehtisham ul Haq, Kausar Javed, Uzma Jabeen, Ambreen lsmail, Mumtaz Begum, Sunbal Malik Hussain, Shazia Rizwan, Motiya Begum, Rabia Naseem Farooqi, Sonia Ashir, Uzma Kardar, Safia Saeed, Tahia Noon, Amina Hassan, Asma Naz, Tahira Mushtaq, Zaib
un Nisa Awan, Fatima Begum, Qudsia Batool, Riffat Abbasi, Atiya lftikhar and Rushda

The three female Member of Punjab Assembly notified under Pakistan People’s Party’s banner were Shazia Abid, Neelam Jabbar Ch and Nargis Faiz Malik.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Q’s notified Member Provincial Assembly of the Pujab were Tashfeen Safdar and Salma Saeed and Sarah Ahmad was notified on the quota of Istehmam-e-Pakistan Party.
