LAHORE:In a damage control mode, Lahore Electric Supply Company has asked staff concerned to replace defective meters and stop exercise of issuing inflated bills to consumers.
The directive was issued by Customer Service Department, which oversees whole process of billing and recoveries. All the Superintending Engineers of Lesco has been asked to immediately replace the faulty meters in the Lesco region and take steps for controlling overbilling. As per perspective of consumers, faulty meters have been made an excuse for willfully issuing inflated bills to hapless consumers.
A warning in this connection was issued that strict action would be taken against officials who failed to comply with this order. Especially replacement of faulty meters should be ensued. Meanwhile, CEO Lesco Shahid Haider gave instructions to the customer services officials regarding the reading of B3, B4 connections. Chairing a meeting on Tuesday, he observed that the authorities concerned should take steps to further improve the efficiency of material management. Similarly, the maintenance department has been instructed to take necessary steps by utilising all the resources to save the customers from trouble.
