Punjab to have most modern cancer hospital

LAHORE:Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced establishing Punjab's first cancer hospital near Valencia Town to provide free cancer treatment to patients.

The chief minister inspected the proposed site and directed to complete the first phase within a year hiring top specialists from across the globe and establishing a hotel for the attendants. 'Most modern government cancer hospital would be set up in Punjab for cancer patients,' she added. Cancer patients will be given free treatment in Punjab's first government hospital. The cancer hospital will bring in the best doctors and the latest machinery for the treatment of patients, she added.

Meanwhile, in a special meeting, the chief minister directed to start ‘Sarkein Bahaal Punjab Khushhal’ project for the socio-economic development of people of Punjab. She said that no road should be left broken in Punjab in six months. Repair and rehabilitation of all inter and intra district roads should be completed at the earliest without compromising the quality of work.’

She ordered completing the under-construction road projects, and called for a report on the condition of road bridges across Punjab. She gave instructions to complete survey for the construction and rehabilitation of road bridge as soon as possible; complete the repair and rehabilitation of more than 153 roads in Punjab besides constructing expressways on major link roads, including Multan-Vehari and Chiniot-Faisalabad roads under public private partnership mode.

Visits Govt Pilot Secondary Girls School

The chief minister visited Government Pilot Secondary Girls School, Wahdat Colony. The CM encouraged the students to keep their classrooms clean upon seeing an empty wrapper and asked the teacher to continue with the test and teaching work. She inquired from the students about their issues and necessities; to which the students demanded improvement in the library, lab and arrangements for events in the school.

The CM visited the examination centres for the 10th-grade board exams and quietly inspected the examination process. She stopped officials from disturbing the students. The CM visited other sections of the eighth class where glasses of the classroom doors were broken and the walls were damp. She went to the library, biology lab and sports room. The CM also visited the school stadium and directed to improve it.

PM welcomes CM Punjab at NA

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a warm welcome to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz as she arrived at the NA. He greeted her with a heartfelt embrace, expressing his affection. Later, upon the arrival of party leader Nawaz Sharif, PM Shehbaz Sharif and CM Maryam Nawaz welcomed him. Nawaz Sharif expressed affection to PM Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.

CM orders relief work

The CM took notice of the landslide incident in New Murree Parhna and instructed the immediate acceleration of relief efforts in the affected area. Expressing regret over the destruction of seven houses in Murree due to landslides, she directed that no effort should be spared in assisting the affected families.
