BARA: A police constable and a polio worker sustained injuries when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them in Bara tehsil of Khyber tribal district on Monday, official sources said.
The sources said that identified armed men opened fire on a polio team in Bar Qambarkhel area in the jurisdiction of the Bara Police Station. As a result, a police constable identified as Gul Kareem and polio worker Abdullah sustained injuries in the attack.
Soon after the incident, the police personnel reached the spot and shifted them to the Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar. The police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation but no arrest was made.
