LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected a plea seeking immediate removal of Nawaz Sharif’s picture from the Ramazan ration bags. Justice Shahid Karim heard the petition.
Counsel Salma Riaz gave arguments on behalf of the petitioner. She took the plea that the national exchequer could not be used for personal publicity. Also, the distribution of flour is against the dignity of citizens.
She prayed to the court to stop printing PMLN Quaid Nawaz Sharif’s picture on ration bags. She said orders be issued for not hurting the prestige of citizens in connection with the distribution of atta.
She said the Punjab government be ordered to send cash to people through the Benazir Income Support Programme. However, the court rejected the plea.
