Last week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif termed a new long-term IMF bailout as inevitable for Pakistan. He also emphasized the need to make tough economic decisions and deep-rooted reforms such as increasing tax revenues. Every target is achievable for our country, given an honest and dedicated leadership team. The leakages in tax collection must be plugged and corruption should be strictly curtailed. The present cabinet members must implement austerity measures, starting with themselves, in order to take Pakistan out of the current crisis.
