LAHORE: Scattered rain followed by a partly cloudy weather was observed in the City here on Wednesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
The rain started in early hours and continued until noon. Following the rain, all the departments concerned, including Wasa were in the field and MD was monitoring the situation. Met officials said a shallow westerly wave was affecting western and upper parts of the country. They predicted that rain-windstorm/thunderstorm was expected in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, South Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and northern Balochistan while dust raising winds were likely in the southern parts of the country.
Rainfall was also recorded at several cities, including Layyah, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Bhakkar and Dera Ismail Khan. Wednesday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Shaheed Benazirabad where mercury reached 43°C, while in Lahore, it was 29.5°C and minimum was 20°C.
