LAHORE: The eighth day of the Inter-College Ramadan T20 Cup saw four matches played across four venues in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. The matches held in Islamabad were affected by adverse weather conditions which resulted in one match being cancelled and the other decided by the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
Gulberg College claimed a three-wicket victory over Government Science College at Lahore’s LCCA Ground. Gulberg College’s Ahmar Muneer high scored with 46 off 35 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes allowing his side to chase Government Science College’s target of 128 in 18.4 overs. Earlier, bowlers Abdul Ali, Ameer Hamza and Waqar Hassan had succeeded in restricting Government Science College at 127-8. Abdul bagged three wickets while the other two picked up one each.
Government College for Men beat Beaconhouse School System by 10 wickets at Eid Gah Ground, Karachi. Ghazi Ghouri with an unbeaten 65 off 37 (5x4s, 3x6s) and Abdul Rehman with unbeaten 48 off 42 (5x4s) managed to chase Beaconhouse’s target of 119 in 13 overs. Earlier, Government College bowlers succeeded in restricting Beaconhouse to 118-7 in 20 overs. Mohammad Zaid Hassan returned with two wickets at the expense of 21 runs.
Government College 36-B Landhi won their match against Government National College by six wickets at IBA Cricket Ground in Karachi. Government College 36-B Landhi’s openers Sufyan with 39 off 50 (5x4s) and Abdullah with 38 off 44 (2x4s, 1x6) led their side in chasing a target of 117.
Earlier, bowlers Haziq Qureshi, Syed Mohammad Huzaifa and Saifullah Khan managed to restrict Government National College to 116-9 with all three of them claiming two wickets each.
At the Miusam Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Beaconhouse I-8 defeated Froebel’s by 10 wickets in a match which was decided by the Duckworth Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
