A passerby was killed during an exchange of fire between police and robbers in Sohrab Goth on Saturday.
According to police, the encounter took place in Ayub Goth area of Sohrab Goth. According to Sohrab Goth DSP Chaudhry Sohail Faiz, a motorcycle squad of policemen was busy with routine patrolling in the area when they got information about suspects riding a motorcycle and looting citizens at gunpoint.
At this, the police squad started chasing the suspects, who opened fire at the police to avoid the police arrest. However, a bullet killed a passerby.
DSP Sohail Faiz said the police continued to chase the suspects and arrested one of them in an injured condition while another managed to escape.
The police officer said the deceased passerby and the injured robber were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the passerby was identified as 35-year-old Kanji, son of Bhema, a labourer. The injured suspect was yet to be identified and his condition was said to be critical.
A case has been registered while an investigation is underway.

On Ramazan 17, near Millenium Mall, Ali Rahber was killed, while on Ramazan 19 a person named Kanji was killed in firing by dacoits in Ayub Goth.
