Due to the law and order situation, especially street crime, the Sindh government has ordered the transfer of Karachi police chief Khadim Hussain Rind and given his responsibilities as an additional charge to the Counter Terrorism Department’s (CTD) Imran Yaqoob Minhas.
Officials said the development happened on Saturday when the Sindh
Services, General Administration & Coordination Department issued the transfer orders of Karachi Addl IGP Rind.
The order reads: “Khadim Hussain Rind, an officer of PSP (BS-21), Additional Inspector General of Police, Karachi Range, is transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as Additional Inspector General of Police (Operations), Sindh, Karachi, relieving Muzaffar Ali Shaikh, an officer of PSP (BS-21), Additional Inspector General of Police (Finance, Logistics and Welfare), CPO, Sindh, Karachi, of the additional charge.
“Moreover, Addl IG Imran Yaqoob Minhas, an officer of PSP (BS-21), Additional Inspector General of Police, Counter Terrorism Department, Sindh, Karachi, is assigned to hold additional charge of the post of Additional Inspector General of Police, Karachi Range, in addition to his own duties till further orders.”
Officials said that the name for the post of the city police chief is yet to be finalised. They said Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is concerned over the law and order situation in Sindh, especially over the rising street crime in Karachi.
In his several meetings he has discussed in length the city’s situation, they added, and now some names have been given to the Sindh government to be finalised for the posting of the city police chief, whose priority would be to devise a policy to control street crime.
Moreover, Shaikh has been posted as Addl IGP Finance, Logistics & Welfare, Abid Qaimkhani as SSP Traffic District South, Azam Jamali as SSP Traffic District Malir, Waris as SP Traffic District East and Ali Anwar Soomro as SP Baldia Town.
Ayub Bhargari has been posted as SP Headquarters District South, SSP Captain Haider Raza as Principal Police Training Centre Saeedabad, SSP Zafar Malik as Assistant IG (AIG) Police Telecommunication Karachi, SSP Syed Salman Hussain as AIG Establishment-I Karachi, Shumail Riaz as SSP SSU Karachi, SSP Khawar Akbar Sheikh as AIG Police Logistics Karachi, SSP Adil Memon as AIG Police Legal Karachi and SSP Anil Haider as AIG Police Admin Karachi.
