LAHORE: On the instruction of Health Minister Kh Imran Nazir, Nankana Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health, Dr Azhar Amin, was transferred and made an OSD for administrative negligence and incompetence whereas MS Shahkot was suspended for not controlling the affairs of the hospital.
An inquiry was ordered against him the MS. The minister issued the orders while presiding over a conference here on Saturday.
The action was taken against the officials after a video of woman went viral on social media. Khawaja Imran Nazir threw CEO Nankana out of the conference in the presence of Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, who issued immediate suspension and OSD orders on the instructions of the minister.
He said that according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, women's privacy and sanctity will be fully taken care of in hospitals, Khawaja Imran Nazir says that making such a video and releasing it in hospitals is condemnable.
Our mothers, daughters-in-law, daughters come to hospitals for treatment, protecting their privacy is the primary responsibility of the hospital administration. The provincial health minister explained that the video was made by an intern in the hospital and action will be taken against them.
Later, provincial health ministers Kh Imran Nazir and Kh Salman Rafiq presided over the 23rd CEOs Health and MS Conference in the Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care and reviewed the performance of government hospitals during the conference. The provincial minister said that 5 billion rupees have been released for the supply of medicines in govt hospitals. He said that in 36 districts, CM Clinics on Wheel and The system of field hospitals will be started at the end of April, Khawaja Imran Nazir clarified that CEOs Health, MSs should perform their duties in an honest, responsible and professional manner, it is my mission to eliminate the culture of corruption in the health department, Khawaja Imran Nazir said that CEO Health, MSs, based on merit, performance.
Meanwhile, Punjab Drug Control Team raided Derma Unit located in Lalazar Colony, fake creams and chemicals worth Rs80 lakh were recovered in huge quantities. Samples of chemicals and products were sent to DTL for testing. Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir went to the spot and inspected the products manufactured in Dermo Unit.
He asked the factory owner Amir Mehmood for a licence. The owner admitted manufacturing products without a licence. Kh Imran Nazir also inspected the factory lab, manufacturing unit.
