LAHORE:Hundreds of Electricity and Wapda Workers held a protest rally under All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union CBA in support of Palestine here on Tuesday.
The protesters said Palestine was a struggling nation and condemned Israel for committing genocide in Palestine and killing more than 32,000 citizens in violation of the decisions of Security Council of the UN.
They appealed to all the peace loving nations to boycott Israel and extend full support for
implementation of the decision of United Nations. The workers were carrying banners in support of innocent citizens of Gaza and condemning the genocide of Gaza citizens by Israel.
The workers were led by Khurshid Ahmad, General Secretary, of the union. The rally urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to meet the shortage of linemen staff and increase allowance for working extra hours at the earliest.
The workers in a resolution paid tribute to Chinese and Pakistani citizens who sacrificed their lives in building Wapda dams and condemned their killing by terrorists and expressed solidarity with Chinese nation. The rally was addressed by representatives of the workers including Osama Tariq, Haji Younas Kamboh, Muzaffar Mateen, Haji Liaqat, Liaqat Gujjar, Ahmer Fiaz and Dilawar Khan, Nosher Khan, Malik Tahir, Mehar Jameel and others.
