LAHORE: A man and his sister were burnt alive when a fire broke out in a house in the limits of Barki police on Tuesday.
The fire broke out in the house due to a short circuit. The victims were identified as Tahir and his sister Wajeeha. On receiving the information about the incident, the rescue teams and the police reached the spot.
Police said that Tahir and Wajeeha, who were mentally retarded, were sleeping in the room when the fire broke out. The police shifted bodies to the mortuary.
Seven die in accidents: The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,295 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
In these accidents, seven people died, whereas 1,395 were injured. Out of these, 612 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 783 victims with minor injuries were treated on the spot by Rescue medical teams.
