PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has summoned the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) chief today (Wednesday) in a petition filed against power loadshedding in rural areas of the district.
A two members bench of the PHC comprising Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Wiqar Ahmad heard the petition. A citizen, Chaman Gul, had filed the petition through Ashfaq Duadzai Advocate.
The lawyer for the petitioner told the court that the Pesco was carrying out heavy loadshedding in Badaber, Mattani, Regi and other rural areas. He said the loadshedding had created a drinking water shortage as well.
