MANSEHRA: The tourism police force will be deployed at recreational attractions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ahead of Eidul Fitr.
“We have extended the contract of tourism police personnel and would deploy them in tourism destinations ahead of Eidul Fitr,” Zahid Chanzeb,
the advisor to the chief minister for Culture and Tourism, told reporters on Tuesday.
He said that the government wanted to promote tourism and explore more and more attractions in the province.
“We have not only extended the contract of tourism police but also approved more motorcycles for them to ensure effective patrolling and services in Kaghan valley, Nathiagali and the rest of the tourist attractions in the province,” Chanzeb said.
He added that the government was expecting a huge influx of tourists to the recreational attractions in the province from parts of the country during this season and that is why such a strategy was devised to offer better hospitality services.
“We want to enhance current numbers of visitors to tourist resorts in the province and it could only be possible when better services would be extended by both the hospitality industry and government,” the CM’s aide said.
The advisor to the chief minister said that he had also directed the commandant of the Tourism Police to visit recreational destinations across the province and review the security and other arrangements for the tourists.
“We have published brushers and pamphlets to guide tourists and directed the officials to ensure distributions of that stuff among hoteliers, educational institutions, students and tourists visiting recreational points,” Chanzeb said.
He added that the fate of contract employees would be decided keeping in view their performance.
