LAHORE: Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Randhawa presided over a meeting to review the arrangements for Eidul Fitr, Vaisakhi Mela and Pakistan-New Zealand T20 cricket matches here on Tuesday.
Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Lahore said that plans and duty rosters have been issued for security on Eid gatherings. Top level cleanliness and security arrangements will be ensured on Eid days.
He said people belonging to the Sikh community will come to Pakistan via Wagah from April 13 to participate in Vaisakhi Mela. Sheikhupura Range and Lahore Police, Auqaf Department and District Administration Lahore and Nankana have been directed to finalise the arrangements for the Sikh yatrees.
Commissioner Lahore took a detailed briefing from PCB officials regarding Pak-New Zealand cricket matches. He said 120 walk-through gates and 336 extra CCTV cameras will be installed. There will be lighting at every blind spot from the security point of view, he added.
Apart from the PCB control room, special control rooms will be built for Pak-New Zealand T20 matches.
355 workers and officials of LWMC will perform the cleaning duties at Gaddafi Stadium and surrounding areas during the cricket matches.
There will be a strict check on the prices and standards of food items inside the stadium.
District Administration, RPO Sheikhupura Athar Ismail, DC Lahore Rafia Haider, DIG Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi, Administrative and Security officers of PCB including all DCs and DPOs also participated through a video link.
