Al Manzar, located on the banks of the Indus River in Jamshoro, is one of the most captivating tourist attractions in Sindh. Thousands of people flock towards this spot to enjoy its natural beauty throughout the year. Recently, I visited said site while crossing from Jamshoro due to the rainy weather, which became a catalyst to visit the eye-catching location. Surprisingly, I could not see any evidence of the government promoting or facilitating tourism at this vital spot. There was not even a proper road beside the barrage alongside the river and hundreds of vehicles had to move on a muddy dirt track with no barricades or other safety measures.
There were also no parking facilities or even a public resort at Al Manzar, which would increase tourism at this location. The tourism department and the district government of Jamshoro are requested to make a plan and work together in order to make Al Manzar a more tourist-friendly spot. Moreover, the government should create opportunities for public-private partnerships at this spot, opening more restaurants, shops, cafeterias, and maybe even an amusement park at Al Manzar.
