SUKKUR: A gang of dacoits kidnapped three policemen after attacking a police picket in Kandhkot.
Police sources said that policeman Ali Hassan Chachar was also injured in the attack that was shifted to Sukkur hospital for treatment. Police sources said the attack came at the time when the home minister and IGP Sindh were holding a meeting in the office of SSP Kandhkot-Kashmore on law and order situation.
Meanwhile, citizens of Shikarpur staged a sit-in at Zero Point against the frequent incidents of kidnapping. Protesters said that as many as 11 citizens of Shikarpur had been taken hostage by the outlaws but Shikarpur Police failed to recover them. Due to the sit-in, the traffic flow towards Punjab and Karachi remained suspended. DSP Khuda Bakhash Panhwar reached the site and assured them of the recovery of the abductees but the protesters refused to withdraw their sit in.
