This letter refers to the news report ‘Rules being amended to remove upper age bar to hire top professionals’ (April 17, 2024). In my opinion, this is quite a viable initiative by the federal finance minister and will help pave the way for hiring seasoned professionals.
Merit-based hiring will surely translate into achieving desired objectives including prosperity and uplifting the economy. In the economic context, it is often wise to shed old paradigms and inculcate newer ways of doing things.
