President Zardari for strengthening economic, cultural ties with Turkey

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasised the need for further enhancing bilateral cooperation with Turkey in trade, economy, education, and culture.

He urged Turkish companies to take advantage of Pakistan’s investment-friendly policies and consider investing through the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

President Asif Ali Zardari shared these sentiments during a meeting with the Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan, Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, at Aiwan-e-Sadr Wednesday.

Highlighting Pakistan’s anticipation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo an’s visit for the Seven High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council session, President Zardari extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci.

He underscored the deep historical ties between the people of Pakistan and Turkey, emphasising their longstanding support for each other during challenging times.

President Zardari noted the potential for Pakistan to benefit from Turkey’s expertise in infrastructure development and proposed joint feasibility studies for establishing railway connections between the two countries to enhance regional connectivity.

Emphasising the importance of educational and cultural exchanges, the president stressed the significance of strengthening people-to-people contacts.

Furthermore, President Zardari expressed gratitude for President Erdo an’s congratulatory messages on his election and Ramazan wishes. He conveyed warm regards and best wishes for the future success of President Erdo an and Turkey.
