ISLAMABAD: Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Special Accountability Court in Islamabad has recorded statements from three additional witnesses of the NAB in the Al-Qadir Trust reference, related to the financial scandal involving 190 million pounds allegedly against the former chairman of the Tehreek Insaf and his wife, Bushra Begum.
The cross-examination of the witnesses has also concluded, following which the court adjourned the hearing until April 19. The court, upon accepting the request of the accused, Bushra Bibi, for a medical examination, has granted permission for the examination to be conducted by Dr. Asim Yousaf and directed that it be completed by Thursday (today) at noon.
Bushra Bibi was brought from Bani Gala to Adiala Jail for the proceedings.
Present at the occasion were the accused’s lawyers, Barrister Ali Zafar, Zaheer Abbas Chaudhry, and Usman Gul.
NAB prosecutors Amjad Parvez and Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi were also in attendance. During the session, nine witnesses were presented by the NAB, with statements from three additional witnesses recorded. The hearing was adjourned until April 19, with the court setting the date for the next session.
